She was predeceased by her four brothers, Richard Shelvey, Patrick Edward, John Thomas and William Martin Conway; and three sisters, Catherine Teresa Sebasky, and Sisters Mary Patrick, RSM and Mary Joachim, RSM. . Sister James Bernard entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield from St. Mary Parish, Southbridge in 1942. In addition to her Sisters in community, she is survived by her sisters, Sr. Claire Belforti, SSJ of Framingham and Frances Giacomuzzi of Vero Beach, FL and by several nieces and nephews.
